Phill found love of country music from a very young age whilst hosting the music upon his grandfather’s fishing boat, cassette tapes of Slim Dusty, John Williamson & the Highway Men amongst the collection. Phill grew up just out of Wee Waa NSW upon a cotton farm where he would drive around most days chipping weeds out of the fields whilst singing along to the good ole country songs. Foremost Phill is a country music fan. Phill JD started songwriting after advice from an iconic Country Music artist that stated, “learn guitar as the poetic words were quite good.

“Praying For Rain” Performed by Phill JD reached the Top5 on the AirplayExpress Top40 Country Charts in May 2021. Earning Phill a Gold Disc Award from AirplayExpress.
