James Marvell has had hits in three fields of music but when he sings gospel he’s the happiest. The new song “Washed In The Blood Of The Lamb” written by Toccoa Georgia DJ/Songwriter Woody Woods has a timeless message that everyone will appreciate. In the 60s, Marvell was a member of the Warner Brothers’ band Mercy. Their million seller “Love Can Make You Happy” skyrocketed into the Billboard and Cashbox Top 10 second to the Beatles’ “Get Back”. Trailing Mercy was Elvis at #6 with “In The Ghetto” and Frank Sinatra at #7 with his signature song “My Way”. In 1970 James Marvell and Buddy Good left Rock and Roll to pursue Country Music. Their duo, The Country Cavaleers were pioneers in starting the long-haired country movements but The Cavaleers had a purpose with their music. They used their Outlaw image to reach the youth of that day with anti-drug messages and family style Country. In the 80s, Johnny Cash called James Marvell “One Of The Finest Singers Around”. Marvell recently added vocals to “Washed In The Blood Of The Lamb” at Gene Breeden’s studio in Nashville. Award winning artist Barry Wayne engineered the session. Marvell, who has had a string of Christian Country and Country Gospel hits feels blessed to be back with a gospel song. In the 90s, Marvell appeared on many Christian TV Networks such as TBN, Jim Bakker, TCT and CTN. This holiday season
